The Left’s New Revolutionary Weapons: Red-Baiting Card and Alinskyism

The communists have found a new Orwellian weapon designed to dispel, reject, intimidate all kinds of criticisms of their evil, collectivist system. The other effective revolutionary tool is Alinskyism.

Their propaganda weapon is called red-baiting. Wikipedians define it as “the act of accusing, denouncing, attacking or persecuting an individual or group as communist,[1] socialist, or anarchist, or sympathetic toward communism,[2] socialism, or anarchism.”

It was obviously created by the communists in the Western world and is now faithfully, mindlessly applied by Filipino communists.

For instance, communist Facebook warrior Rey Refran and company have this hilarious habit of pulling the “red-baiting” card whenever their Facebook propaganda is confronted with solid counter-arguments. Try to argue with them to see how they pathetically pull the “red-baiting” card.

What these hilarious people don’t know is that mere use or exploitation of the red-baiting card is an expressed admission that they’re indeed communists.

These people are self-claimed, self-confessed, proud communists! What is there to hide?

Pulling or using the red-baiting card merely shows they don’t have any sane, valid, logical arguments to present or adduce.

This new Orwellian strategy is also being used by various self-claimed, identified leftist groups against the government and the military.

One question: Isn’t our military at war with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its armed wing New People’s Army (NPA)? The whole nation is at war with the armed communists and their new factions.

One very important military rule, which is as old as the Chinese civilization, demands that you identify or know your enemy. In The Art of War, Sun Tzu said: “Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril. When you are ignorant of the enemy, but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal. If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril.”

The Kabataan Party-list, which is very sympathetic to the leftist cause and agenda, and other militant groups have also accused the military and the government of red-baiting or red-tagging.

Let’s pause for a moment and try to consider the following facts:

  • First, the Aquino administration has placed the entire Filipino nation under greater threat with its policy of appeasement. For instance, Pres. Noynoy Aquino appointed a number of notorious communists to key government positions.
  • Second, the military has clearly been left in the cold by the Aquino regime’s recent peace deals and policies of appeasement with the communists and separatists. For example, the government promised to provide livelihood assistance to former leftist combatants using taxpayers’ money. Very recently the government also entered into a wealth-sharing deal with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) with the latter receiving the lion share (70 percent) of the obviously unconstitutional, treasonous agreement.

What did our soldiers get for supporting the government and protecting the entire nation against communist threats and rebellions? Nothing!

Yet the mainstream communists still accuse the military and the government of red-bating or red-tagging?

The truth is, the entire nation is at war with covert, creeping communism in almost all sectors of our society. I believe that the communists have the right– and should be allowed– to join our electoral and political processes– to fight for their ideology and policies in Congress in what is known as ‘parliamentary struggle’. However, there were reports that some leftists in Congress have been continuously supporting and even funding their comrades in the mountains, which is a clear case of treason.

Let’s not forget that our government and our country is still technically at war with the communist rebels.

According to Jose Maria Sison, CPP-NPA founding leader, “the party is not allowed to participate in the electoral process”. He also said that the “elections held by the class enemy are farcical”. That statement alone shows that the CPP-NPA regards the government as its “class enemy”. We are the enemy in the eyes and little mind of JoMa Sison, who roots for a single-party system controlled by his communist ruling class. A single-party system is a clear affront to justice, freedom, democracy and reason!

But if Mr. Sison rejects communist revisionism (e.g., joining the electoral process and parliamentary struggle), there are certainly die-hard communists (e.g., Satur Ocampo, Etta Rosales, Teddy Casino, Liza Maza, Risa Hontiveros, Edcel Lagma, among others) who believe in joining the enemy class’s political process to pursue their ideological agenda by selling it piecemeal , bit-by-bit, to the public. And now their comrades in Congress have been passing and supporting a lot of socialistic programs, such as Lagman’s Reproductive Health law and universal healthcare, among others. Some even allied with the ruling party coalition in the last elections to upgrade their political positions– from Congress to Senate. Fortunately all of them had been purged in the electoral process.

Mr. Sison calls the communist compromisers “revisionists”; I call them Alinskyites.

In 1971, radical communist Saul Alinsky wrote a book titled “Rules for Radicals” wherein he scolded his fellow leftists in the 1960s for scaring off potential converts or sympathizers in Middle America. Alinsky conceded that the CPP-USA didn’t have enough support base to execute and win the revolution. So, he believed in infiltrating the system, as he viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The main goal was to infiltrate existing institutions such as political parties, unions, churches and pressure groups.

Alinsky’s best and most successful students are U.S. President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

What Sison branded as communists “revisionists” are actually today’s Alinskyites who share the CPP-NPA leader’s ideological passion and vision yet differ in terms of methods and strategy. Perhaps they believe in the old maxim: ‘If you can’t beat them, join them’.

War or revolution is about winning the hearts and minds of the people. While many Filipinos are anti-communists, they remain sympathetic to a number of socialistic measures, programs and policies.

Today, the radical, revolutionary (CPP-NPA) communists are the ones who carryout brutal, bloody wars with our soldiers and innocent civilians, while the revisionists or Alinskyites in the government hold the victims’ feet.
